Add in a home purchase and, well, it just sounds like a crazy time. What better way to relax and get in the autumn spirit than by going for a beautiful scenic drive? With an overabundance of scenic byways, Idaho features incredible vibrant views of mountains, valleys, canyons, and forests filled with reds, oranges, and yellows.

Sawtooth Scenic Byway
This gem in the heart of central Idaho is everything fall dreams are made of. The Sawtooth Scenic Byways is a 116-mile long stretch that takes you through the Sawtooth Mountains. Along the drive, you’ll go through the delightful little towns of Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley, and make sure to take in the amazing landscape at Galena Summit, between Sun Valley and Stanley.
City of Rocks Scenic Byway
With about 50 miles of pure, rural landscape, this scenic byway that circles the Albion Mountain Range in southern Idaho is definitely a must. Enjoy this epic drive of bursting colors that takes you through the City of Rocks National Reserve, Castle Rocks State Park, and the city of Oakley which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Snake River Canyon
This beautiful drive goes from Walters Ferry to Nyssa, Oregon. It’s a 50-mile drive with lots of pit stops along the way, including some local wineries and vineyards that are open seasonally. And if you’re looking for water views, you won’t be disappointed!
Teton Scenic Byway
The 70-mile stretch of the Teton Scenic Byway is a jaw dropper. Every. Single. Time. From historic sites and quaint towns to the dreamiest, most stunning views of the Teton Range in eastern Idaho, you can’t miss a drive like this.
Even if you’re not big on exploring the outdoors, these drives are well worth it! With no hiking required, gather the kids and some car snacks for an easy day of taking in all the glorious autumn colors… and don’t forget the camera!
